Hence if you place an order below $1000 from an overseas supplier who is NOT registered with the ATO to collect GST then you do not pay GST.
    That makes sense. Thanks

They should not have charged you VAT or GST at all. I order from rimmers all the time and never paid either. I didnt use them for my EAS as they don't ship them outside of the UK, whereas AF, island 4x4 etc do. Went with AF as the offered a 2year wty.

???? Why not? They are legally obliged to. You’re aware the law changed over a year ago requiring them to charge Australian purchasers GST for each transaction, no dollar limit. As DB pointed out, this is only for retailers who declare transacting more than $75k to AUD per year.

Rimmer do charge it at 10% and it’s built into the price of each item. They even specify the exchange rate they use to calculate the 10% loading. I suggest you re-read your invoice. They don’t itemise the GST - it’s built in.

    Actually they also itemise it!
They refer to it as VAT at 10%

Anyhoo, just glad we can get almost all parts we need faster from the uk than east coast AU...

You’re not reading. They call it VAT but it’s at 10% - the GST rate. VAT is a tax just like GST but at 17.5% so you can see it’s not VAT they’re charging, but GST

Well today tells me 13yrs is about maximum life of an air strut , well the rubber air bag anyway.... well maybe the tropics has a roll to play im not sure.

Been chasing an air leak for a few weeks, re-oring the front valve block and the car still dropped altho not as much , so out came the soapy water again... took some finding but i have 2 air bags with very slow leaks thru the rubber where it folds at normal height. very very minimal bubbles but enough to confirm that the rubber is perished and air is getting thru. car was dropping 40mm in 36 hrs , dropped 15mm in 26hrs so the valve block may have been bypassing as well

going to be a busy and expensive month coming up , 4 air struts , 2 front wheel bearings plus a full service is due..

I’ve heard good Indy’s drive at slow speed with window down at off-road height listening for leaks since the fold at normal height can mask a cracked boot but 13 years is superb performance.

At offroad height i couldnt get the sign of bubbles. put it back to normal height and they re-appeared. I am talking very very minimal bubbles to start with , but its in 3 or 4 different spots on the bag so its past its use by date, plus i have been suspect of the shocks for the last few months , so i had planned this job anyway.
