The shock part is past it's best after 100,000km too. Less if they've been required to do some significant work.
From memory your looking at around GBP 600.00 plus delivery costs for all four corners from the UK in OEM (BWI) spec - not a bad price when you consider that's for four new shock absorbers and four new air bags!
Latest price is 1800 AUD (1000£) delivered from the UK for four off BWI air bag and strut assemblies. That's pretty reasonable for 10years duty.
Mine will be ordered after Christmas.

My D3 2007 was up to 271,000km and have just had the struts all replaced as well as tie rods and ends. The D3 is noticeably former and nice to drive again.

Possible the front upper and rear upper/lower CAs may need replacing but will leave those alone for the time being. My indie did check them and thought they were fine.

I did the roll bar bushes and links myself about 2 1/2 years ago.

Front LCAs done at 120000km, did sway bar bushes and fitted adjustable rear links about 18 months ago, all still A-OK. I think the new struts will make a marked difference. Doing new brake lines and caliper rebuild now (new piston seals and caliper slide rubbers, full system flush). Be good for another 200,000km

Probably a stupid question, but how much work is there to change the rear struts/airbags?

I just received today the full set of four BWI units (OEM supplier) from Advanced Factors in the UK.
Total cost $1,764 AUD delivered to my door. Only ordered last Wednesday, so arrived in less than a week!

I also got the front LCA kit (complete arms plus bolts etc) from them for $677 AUD at the same time.

    Cheers,
    Scott

If you have the tools it’s not too bad.

I did mine in the driveway mate, Jack, stands, 13mm flex head ratchet spanner makes it allot easier. 3 bolts top. 1 on the bottom.
I think I put mine in raised. Took wheel off while lifting off chassis.
Undid bottom bolt. Undid air line so there was no weight on bottom bolt. Pulled the bolt. Undid the top bolts. Dropped out unit. Reverse the procedure but use the Jack to raise the knuckle to the strut to get bottom bolt in

This is good info. That will be me hopefully over the Christmas break. Fronts as well, with front LCAs at same time.
