Agreed, it a great way to do it. I use an electric pump. In a bit of a rush a couple of months ago had the oil changed, air, pollen and oil filters changed in the driveway in about 45 minutes. Fantastic.

I tend to take a little longer than that possibly due to my sitting down sipping the odd can or two and watching the girls go by..... and walk on by is all they do these days.
    Oh woe is me.

Anyone extracted on the 2.7 and compared with draining? If you snug one of the rubber vac pump tube bungs over the dipstick tube should be essentially same effectiveness as 3.0?

Always use Wynns engine oil additive as well. (shouldn't have said that as not wanting to start another "discussion"! Forget I ever mentioned it! )

really? if you didn't want discussion you could have deleted the above instead of saying "forget I ever mentioned it".......hmmmmmm

No. With the 2.7 you’ll need to insert a tube down the dipstick to the bottom of the sump.

On a 3.0 the drain tube goes to the very bottom.

I did try it - once - was a very slow process, and as Tombie notes, does not remove all the oil.

The tube ends up being too small of a diameter to be truly effective. Like drinking a milk shake through a normal straw (but not as tasty changing oil companies do i need to flush the engine?).

Knowing that there are those amongst us who are dead against "additives" (and fair enough, each to his own opinions about this subject) I was trying to be funny; sorry you didn't see my warped sense of humour.
