And most likely running the maximum non-reportable volume of Biodiesel in it.

Quite likely, but I've never had any issue with that, and neither has my car. But 300TDis and TD5s are pretty forgiving. As was the Scania 730 V8.

Agree they’re forgiving. It’s the power loss I don’t like with blended diesel.

It sounds nicer (softer ‘bang’) but noticeably less power.

Indeed its possible and easy. I did change one once in the sand at a campsite outside of Esperance, at extended height, a couple of spanners and latex gloves.

I use truck diesel fuel in the D4 from the cheapest servo which is usually metro or United. Never have an issue.

Just being a fairly new D4 owner - I'm curious as to what brands of fuel people are putting in their Disco's

Right now I'm using Caltex - Has anyone seen any power/fuel improvements or running/noise improvements etc with different brands over longer periods?

Getting around 620km's before filling with very mixed driving
you may...just may get diesel from brisbane refinery.....if they still make it.

last I heard only some brisbane metropolitan and gold coast servos got locally refined dieso.

nearly all of Australia's distillate (diesel) comes via ship from Singapore , which may or may not have additives , depending where you are in Australia.

i contemplated doing it out in the paddock, but the thought of sneaking home with diesel dripping off my shirt didn’t seem right now that I am a retired gentleman, as opposed to a grubby farmer.

Would that be a retired gentleman farmer, or just a retired grubby farmer?

I know some of you fellows will find this hard to believe, but in my natural elements, I would get grubby in 10 minutes .

oil ,grease, welding sparkes, grinder sparkes ,sheep dung, cow dung, horse slobber, gum sap, pine resin, barbed wire tears, mud, superphosphate dust, if it could make any one grubby, I was the one.

Now then Old Farang, I am now a retired gentleman, even so when I dress myself to go out, even just to visit a cobber or veteran get together, my good woman will invariably exclaim “ you are not going out looking like that !” So therefore I must be ‘ a retired grubby farmer” eh

    Happy New Year!

I used to work with a bloke offshore that we called "Pigpen"! He always looked scruffy no matter what. On crew change day, (every 28 days) he would spend 30 minutes in the shower, get dressed up in shore going clean clothes and wait for the helicopter. Within 15 minutes, even sitting in the TV room watching a movie, he would look like he had just stepped out of the engine room after a 12 hour shift!
