Shouldn't that be 16.1 Gavin as Jan is the first month of the year? Mine was built June 2016 so I've always thought of it as being a 16.5. Or am I doing things wrong?

    G'day Alan
Going back to basics, my understanding is that LR MY start from July, so my July 1994 LSE is actually a MY95 (which I have had confirmed) - hence my prior post explanation/comment about using/mirroring financial years. I've never heard of the post decimal equating to months!

Likewise, I've been told that the 16.5 is a halfway special applying from Jan 2016, as the D4 was stopped manufacture about mid/late 16, and I had heard that there were some cosmetic add ons/changes to the original MY16 as the model ran out - clearing out options/accessories stock?

On top of that we had the Landmark and other MY2016 specials being HSE with a little extra yet again?

I suppose not that dissimilar in reduced principle to the D2/D2a facelift?

Now someone will come along and tell me that I've been fed urban myths again!

That is correct Gavin - the MY16.5 was released in January 2016. All MY16 D4’s would have been 2015 built.

Mine has a plate under the bonnet saying the build date is June 2016 so I'm not sure that statement is correct.
Whatever as they say, couple of months here or there doesn't bother me as it's still MY 2016.5 then.

That also sounds correct Alan. Yours is still a MY16.5.

The MY16.5 was a special run to help sales before the new Disco arrived.

The .5 does not refer to the month built, just as MY16 does not mean it was necessarily built in 2016 either.

Like many things our beloved (??) LR it's a bit weird . I would have thought a vehicle built in Jan 2016 would have been described as 2016.1 and so on like mine being a June build so 2016.5. Too logical I suppose.

.5 was used to designate the feature upgrades.
And in the UK had Adblue etc thrown on it.
