Alan you might actually have the very limited edition MY16.6 D4.....you will definitely want to hang on to it as they only produced them for 1 month. Losing All electrics after trying to insert GAP Tool

    AlanH.

But what about the previous years - we are talking about the naming principle after all, not just a special MY for Alan

To add to the confusion, mine is officially a "MY11 D4 SDV6SE 3.0 HiPo 188kw" according to the VIN.

Nameplate when you open the bonnet says built "Dec 10", so if its supposed to be that the model year runs june-july, mine should be a MY10.

I think the brits just made it up as they went along.

Every car "built" from July 2010 to June 2011 is a MY 11 ie MY year runs from July to June, not June - July - a bit dislexic today?

Losing All electrics after trying to insert GAP Tool

Actually I believe you will find MY11 was only released in Nov 10 and ran thru to Oct 11. Losing All electrics after trying to insert GAP Tool

The actual release date for each model year can vary quite a bit depending on when new features are added or marketing cycles. Typically it is in the second half of the year but there is no set month for when it happens, and a MY can run for more or less than 12 months depending on this timing.
