my car dont fart no more

    Gday All,

I noticed a few days ago that when stopping and turning off the car it doesnt vent or fart no more. Today i had a suspension fault which didnt drop the car to the bump stops but it did disable special programs.

I cleared the fault without writing down what it said but basically said along the lines of suspension not venting pressure. I am guessing that i should start with an inspection of the exhaust side of the compressor. Is the filter that sits in the rear corner panel part of this , i assumed that would be intake side.

    Thanks and Cheers Bulletman

It vents through the desiccant chamber. Odds are your desiccant is powder, has blocked the filters and so it can’t easily breath out. I’ve had this on two occasions. Both times I simply replaced the desiccant and filters, blew out etc.

On extremely rare occasions it’s the exhaust valve

Pretty much how i knew it was time to service the compressor, near silent farts finally leading to the orange error light and dash message.

Interesting , i replaced the dissicant and filters 8 months ago when the cap cracked on the housing, but we have had a fairly big and humid wet season so far , so i might pull the compressor and re check them.

    Thanks and cheers Bulletman

Mine lasted a year before I had to pull it back apart. Many beads had failed and filters were dirty. I washed the filters and dried the beads in the oven , discarding the broken ones. Been ok for a good 18 months again. I suspect a small leak somewhere means it’s bringing in more than it exhales so the cumulative effect on the beads is them getting waterlogged and failing (just a guess)

I have a front airbag which the rubber has perished and has several very small leaks which drops the car about 1mm/hr so that plus about 2 months of 90+ % humidity has likely got the compressor filters moist and clogged. I did have 1 of metal strainers rusted after a particularly big wet season 4 or 5 yrs ago, and we would have to be pushing 300mm rain so far this month so very possible it is as you say.

Must have a leak DJ, rebuilt mine around the same time and no issues since. I went with the alloy cap and i used silicone grease around the o rings and gasket goo with the fibre washers.
