    At 760rpm the cylinder balance offset figures are #1 592, #2 1375, #3 750, #4 1375, #5 1031, #6 918. At 1500rpm all figures are 983.
Should I be running some injector cleaner through the system before I start thinking of new injectors? If I go the new injector path should I replace all 6?
Can these injectors be bench cleaned and reconditioned?
Thanks for any ideas - especially money saving ones.
It's good they settle down.. Might be slightly sticky from sitting around for so long. They shouldn't take too long to settle if they are going to..I use a product called CRD enchancer from a company called CEM. It's cheap and you only use 8ml per 60L from memory. It might be snake oil. But it's fixed a few Toyota hiluxes and a dmax for me.

Give it a good thrashing. You never know what's sticky

Are all the glow plugs working, white smoke on start up, they might be struggling a bit.

Some of those figures don’t look too good with some of the injectors compensating for others. Above 1000 rpm I understand they will all flatline - I believe this only measures the balance at idle not when revving.

I wonder if when the new motor was fitted if the new injector codes (for the replacement engine) had been programmed into the ECU.

AFAIK its the original engine that had a top end rebuild.

To update. The motor is original but the heads were removed to fix a blown gasket. I drained the filter to check for contaminants. The fuel looked clean but flow was very slow with no appreciable pressure. After draining the fuel filter I wass unable to start the engine - no fuel at the bleed port on top of the engine. Depending on the filter construction, either the filter is blocked or the in-tank pump is not delivering. I had no warnings on the dash and did not check the gap tool for messages.
Tomorrow I'll check for pump current draw and I'll fit a new filter. I have put a bottle of Penrite injector cleaner in the tank. Fingers crossed that fixes it, but I may be up for a new in-tank pump.
A friend has offered to check the injector to cylinder matching if need be.

Can the injector codes be programmed to the ECM via the GAP tool?

Sorry - seems to be a bump steer on this one.

It seems the D3 will actually take care of this itself. May need to be driven for a bit to sort itself and rebalance the injectors if they had been replaced or if the ECU has been replaced and lost the prior adaption values.

Fitted a new fuel filter yesterday, which didn't improve fuel flow - as expected. A new in-tank pump is being delivered today from TR Spares, so I'll be dropping the fuel tank in the next few days for a pump change.

The new fuel pump, as supplied is for a later D3. It appears that the Land Rover information says that the later pump is a superseding item for the earlier pump assembly. What I wasn't told is that to fit the later pump changes have to made to the internal pipes, wiring and possibly the tank - all at great cost!
I managed to find an aftermarket assembly, identical to the original and less than half the price, distributed by a company called OEM auto, Springvale, Vic. Brand new and with 12month warranty. I hope it lasts!

Reinstalled the fuel tank today, bled the system via the Schrader valve and got the engine running again. I have put a bottle of Penrite injector cleaner in with 20L of diesel in the hope of fixing the uneven injector pressures, made lots of smoke but the injectors haven't improved yet.
I have managed to clear the warning lights on the instrument cluster but I still have 3 DTCs from the GAP tool. P140A-00 (The EGR system is blanked off), C1A48-01 ( park brake works and no warning lights on the dash), P0900-00 Rear diff clutch actuator( Everything seems to be operating and no warning lights)
Next move is to check park brake wiring and have a look at the brake shoes.

An update on the restoration of this vehicle. After replacing the fuel tank pump I was left with my parkbrake message. I was going to run the car while chasing down, what I hope is the parkbrake wiring defect.
Before getting a temporary registration I have serviced the air compressor, engine oil change, filter changes (air, oil, pollen), and replaced parkbrake shoes. I now have an amber 'suspension' light and a 'rear right height sensor' message (C1A06-1C(AF)). I replaced that sensor with a used spare which did not fix the defect. Checking live values on my GAP tool, the rear right height sensor shows 4.9V-supply and 0V-output. The left sensor shows 4.9V and 2.15V respectively. I have cleaned the sensor connector. A possible wiring defect?
