In Victoria I'd ring the RACV and if they didn't think it was OK to press on they'd either send out a company that specialises in doing mobile misfuel removal, or they'd flat-bed it to somewhere that can.
An LR dealer told me that they get heaps of these each week to fix, so it must be fairly common.

They would not say to keep driving for fear of legal. Nowadays good advice isn’t given - legally safe advice is.
You’d need more than 2l in 89l to cause any damage.
I have seen posts on ski forums that say if you cannot get alpine diesel, put 1 - 2 litres of petrol into the tank, then fill the rest with regular diesel. It probably works, given how regularly those posts appear, but not for me. I will stick to alpine diesel, when needed, and ensuring I can get it by planning ahead.
Do you go to a public forum and ask a random group of people for an indemnified approach? I hope not.
Who is going to provide any identity anyway? No professional will either. Even if they drain it and refill it with diesel, if it fails after, I can assure you they won’t cover the costs
Land Rover don’t provide any indemnity for their damn engines!

Different to your case as you only filled up 2L but this news story is still worth a watch. This should help anyone remember to always fill up with the correct fuel!

Drove it home and drained fuel tank. Refilled tank and kept it toped up for next couple of weeks (to keep diluting any ULP that was left). No adverse issues noted to date so hoping all is good and I got away with it!![]()
