Check connection at the trailer plug, always a weak point
Last time we went to Stradbroke Island one the passenger side tail light on the camper trailer got broken somehow. Today I replaced the broken light. Before I replaced the old driver’s side tail light I tested them. Indicators on both sides no brake or tail lights. Thought the new lights being LED and the old ones incandescent might be the issue. Installed the second LED light. Still indicators only. Swapped tail light and brake light connections. No luck. ????

Check connection at the trailer plug, always a weak point
So I’ve sorted half the problem. When the light was crushed it blew the taillight and brake light fuses in the tow bar fuse box. This sorted the tail lights but not the brake lights. Bit of a mission with the rear drawers in.
If I connect the same colours, indicator and tail lights work.
All wiring in the trailer plugs is good. I’ve been trying different combinations of the red, green, brown and white wires on the left hand light. If I only have the white and green wires or the white and brown wires connected then the brake light on the right works. If I have the whites connected and the brown to the red. Same deal. At one stage the left hand indicator was working as a brake light and the right hand brake light was working but by the stage I was just tired and cranky so I didn’t record what I was doing so couldn’t replicate it.
I have matrices on what works with this combination or that combination but it’s just adding to the confusion.
I don’t like to admit defeat.
Oh Yeah. Even though I had a charger connected. All the testing of indicators, tail lights, brake lights has flattened the battery.
Better day tomorrow????
