No response from accelerator D4

Hi Gents, just returned from a camping weekend. Unpacked my ldr 4 TDV6 and went to start it the following day. Engine warning light lit up, car starts and goes into gear but when I press the accelerator down there’s no response. No revs nothing, a few shudders intermittently. What’s the prognosis? Thanks in advance.

Throttle pedal sensor? Have you got a diagnostic tool that reads throttle pedal percentage? Most do and even cheap OBDII readers show this generally.

What is a ldr 4? Never heard of that model.

NRMA ran a scanner and it came back with an egr fault

Did they only look at faults or look at any active data? An EGR fault may limit throttle output, but I'd be checking to see what the pedal was doing as well.

You may have that fault but even with failed EGRs the throttle will still work but not all that well - so as Homestar suggests you need to look at the throttle system.

Thanks Gents. I’ve got it booked in for repair later this week. I wanted to be across the potential issue/s on the day.

Not the dreaded faulty stop (brake) light switch problem???
That's exactly wot happened to me a year ago.
Suggest replace switch anyway as it can be problematic and only about $30 bucks.
