You're talking about the indicator lights. They are what light up when you lock/unlock the car. Other than let people know which way you are turning, that's all they're meant to do. Some D4s have turn lights in the lower outer section of the headlight assembly. These come on at night when turning at low speed and are meant to assist in seeing what's around the corner. But they have nothing to do with the lock/unlock flashing or indicators.
In other word, nothing to see here, your car is behaving as it should.

Hey no it’s not the outer indicator light it’s the smaller circle ones in the bottom inner corner closest to the grill are playing up. They run as DRLs and as parking lights (dual filament bulb) and should turn on when I set the switch to parking lights but I only get the rear lights to come on. From what I have read the front and back are on the same fuse for each side … so drivers side front and rear. But the fuse seems fine and rears are working.

So its this light on both sides. I don't have the upgrade version with the LED strip around the headlight.
This light acts as DRL & Park light (also called side lamp in manual).

Those are the infill lights for the high beams. Assuming you have the bi-xenons, but not the signature led upgrade, I'd say the halogen bulbs are blown.

(The main bi xenon globe on the outer side does double duty as low and high beam)

I replaced the infill globes with Stedi copperhead LEDs, makes a huge difference and they're direct plug and play.

I’m not sure they are infills on the facelift models?

Do the indicators also flash when you lock the car?

Maybe post a video of what it’s doing at the moment?

    Show:

    Lock/unlock
    Car on, headlights on
    Car on, high beams
    Car on, parking lights only
    Hazards on

I think we’re all getting confused by different names for the same things…

No they're not. On the std MY14 D4 setup (ie no light upgrade options) the light circled are DRL and parking lights. A normal filament bulb from memory. The headlights use a single bulb in the larger lense with a shutter to switch between low & high beams. There are no infill high beam lights.

Happy to be proven wrong, I thought on the facelift models they are still an infill light, but there you go.

Still worth checking the bulbs, they are just automotive H globes, nothing fancy.

I wonder if this is due to a CCF setting, I've heard of other European cars just using the rear lights as parking lights. A bit like the different DRL settings where Canadian only uses the rear lights.
