Good question. A different HPFP. The coolant supply line to the EGRs is different. Mine had a DPF. Different injectors and a few other bits and bobs.

I believe the change was for the MY08 model year. Mine was built in late 07 and EU4.

Hey BradC, just a question - was you D3 an import or something? Reason I ask is that mine is also a late 07 build EU4 and I'm pretty sure I have no DPF. Just a little confused now 😊

Yeah it is a UK import XS. Thankfully not a lot of underbody rot. It also has an additional fuel-cooler radiator and a few other parts that make it "a bit different" over here.

OK cool, that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying - I thought maybe the plant had forgot to fit my dpf for a minute there. 😁

Not all My07's require an ECU remap. I have a MY07 but the build date is December 06. When I blanked my EGR'S I contacted Bell Auto and gave them my VIN number (137A.....) and they said I needed a Map for the ECU, which I purchased from them. I then blanked the EGR's and remapped the vehicle. I then could not start the car. Got onto Bell and we eventually worked out that my car was on the change over and didn't require a Map even though the VIN No. said it did, so we changed the map back to factory and the car started and ran perfectly without any fault codes at all. This was about six years ago and still no problems, just clean inlet tract and map sensor.
    Cheers,
    Murray

As this has been covered above and before, I won't go into much depth, ALL EU3 D3s can simply have EGR blocked.
The very first of the EU4 D3s can simply have the EGR plates installed as well, I don't know what the vin changeover was, but not all 137A D3s need the patch.

I'd suggest in the interest of not wasting your money, if you have a 137A, fit the blanks and see if the light comes on, if it does... Pay for the patch.

    If not, good for you!

MY08 but it is a 138A and according to Pete Bell I do need the patch. Bugger.

I'd say by 138A ... Yes you would need the patch, it was only the VERY early EU4 that didn't
