    D3 TDV6 EGR delete

    Morning folks and folkettes,

    I'm sure this has been covered ad infinitum but despite my best efforts at searching I could only find one reference and that was for a D4.

    I'd like to turn off the EGRs, mu indy suggested that as long as the EGRs are stilkl working that blanking plates would not be required and just needed a firmware ECU update that will "delete" the EGRs.

    Any advice on that? Can it be done via the GAP IID updater??

    Bas sell a software patch that is applied via a Gap tool, if your egrs are working just drop in a couple of blanking plates.

    Not if the EGRS are still working, mine is an 08 and no EML light or other issues.

    Space is tight but you just loosen a couple of bolts enough to slide the plates in then remove the butterfly from the inlet.

    I made my plates from zinc coated 1.15mm steel.

    My 08 faulted very randomly when I fitted the plates and removed the butterfly. Sometimes no faults for days then 10 faults within couple hours.

    Were your egrs still working and wiring/plumbing still intact ? I get the occasional code come when use my gap tool but i just clear it and it doesn't cause a limp mode or performance loss.
