2014 Discovery TDV6 U201B-54(2F) missing steering column calibration

My GAP IID Tool gives me the fault code with minimal extra information as far as I can tell. Can anybody tell me what the (2F) stands for?
I can calibrate the steering wheel angle fine but can't find how to calibrate the column. The disco goes into limp mode continuously (as soon as I clear the fault it stays in limp mode).
The steering column was inactive, so I updated it to active but came up with 3 more faults so I made it inactive again so I only had the original fault again.
I disconnected the battery for over 10 minutes, then connected the positive and negative cables together to completely drain the power but still have the fault.
    Can anybody please help me?

Is the column electric? If so, the other faults that you encountered after making the column active might provide more of a clue of the fault.

    Hi.

I have a 2013 model and the workshop manual for it shows the following for u-201b-54. No (2F) showed up in a search of the document. Hope this may help.

Thanks but no the column isnt electric as far as I can tell. This model is the basic discovery.

Thanks Martin I had found that too but I cant find how to calibrate the steering column (only steering angle sensor calibration which I did) with my GAP IID BT tool. I would think that I would only need to calibrate the column if it was electric which I dont think it is (basic discovery model) so maybe I need to do a full reset rather than just draining the power from the ecu.

    Cheers

An electrically adjustable column will have a switch on the left side of the column and if no switch then just the flat with a circle.

Clutching at straws but perhaps the steering angle sensor is faulty and causing the wrong DTC to be stored. I'd be inclined to disconnect then reconnect the sensor then recalibrate again.

Appaently GAP IID BT tool couldnt clear the fault but Landrover could clear it easily

Gave in and had my partner drive 2 hours in limp mode to Perth, gave them a note with fault code and what I had done. Mechanic didnt even look at it and just said it was a leak in the intake manifold and said it would cost $8k and in Perth for a week. I had to keep calling to get them to clear the fault code which they did so my partner could drive it home without being in limp mode the whole way. She had to stop a couple of times going up the hill to let everyone overtake. She could easily clear the manifold fault code if she accidentally put the foot down too far at least. I might have to start a new post re replacing the intake manifold now

Go somewhere else for a quote. It shouldn’t be $8k but more around $2k

    Hey mate,

When this happens, there is a setting in the gap tool for different fault codes, when my intake blew, I didn't see a fault on gap but I was in limp mode, I think in had to enable "pending" faults for it to show. I'll check my settings today and report

    Thanks Josh

I assume you paid a mechanic to fix your intake and how much did it cost you? My $8k quote includes both intakes with 20 hours work at $220/hr.

    Cheers
