Genuine pump sourced locally with 24 month warranty, belt kit, pair of high pressure fuel lines and the "single use" pump mounting bolts. I enjoy the masochism that is working on a D3 so it was a bit of fun, but if you don't then I'd absolutely pay someone else.

No, a failing high pressure pump leads to an incorrect pressure. The PCV generally sticks and it can stick closed leading to low pressure or it can stick open leading to high pressure. The VCV sticking can only lead to low pressure as if it sticks open the only result is excessive fuel return temperatures and no impact on pressure.

Edit : The PCV description is ass about. It's closed for high pressure and open for low pressure.

Thanks for the clarification Brad, thought you'd be along.

I don't know too much about the hpfp system and PCV, was just going off the DTC description.

Update on the gearbox fault issues. So after getting the use of the scan tool and getting the code I decided after discussion with Richard the scan man as a first and cheapest step to replace the fuel filter which I reckon I hadn’t done in over a year, anyhow replaced it and so far no fault warning ⚠️ 😅 so fingers crossed.
    Thanks again for the feedback.

First time it happened to me I cleared it and it went away for nearly half a year. I *have* heard stories about it being a blocked filter however, and I can understand how that might be possible, but then if it was a blocked filter it'd happen under load every time.

Ahh well I’ll keep with the dream as long as it lasts ⚠️⚠️ I have it booked in for some tests in a few weeks so let’s wait and see. 👍

But for the moment he can enjoy "the serenity" of no fuel faults.
