Knocking under the my LR3 when decelerating then accelerating

I've been experiencing a loud knock under my LR3 after I slow down then accelerate. It only happens at slow/low speeds. Had a look underneath but cant see anything loose. My mechanic has checked and he is also puzzled.
Don't think its a gear issue as it happened in manual mode without changing gears but I'm not a mechanic. Seems to be getting slowly worse so want to find out how to fix it soon.
    Any advice out there?

My D3 2007 does something similar, it's gor 240,000km now and has done it ever since I bought it at 200,000km. I put it down to driveline or gearbox wear. It hasn't caused me any worry, I kind of drive around it but feathering the throttle on when needed.

This is very common and can be reduced by fitting an EVC throttle controller.

When fitted, do you dial it up to be more resposive or dumb it doen a bit? Which one reduced the clunking? Would a remap help instead?

I run the EVC at 2 which is more responsive and also takes the lag out. Maybe a remap, perhaps someone can answer that.

My indie suggested it was wear/slack on the chain in the transfer case. He assures me it won't break, though it is becoming quite noticable and annoying now.

Hadn't heard the throttle controller trick, though if it really is a worn driveline it's hard to imagine it improving that much?

I have horrid on off throttle clunk through my drivetrain. I’ve yet to take it in to have it diagnosed. I can drive around it somewhat with very gentle throttle application

The throttle controller helps you drive around it nothing more.

Yeah I have a throttle controller. Doesn’t help with this. This clunk is well over the typical disco clunk. Something is worn out but I guess 300k km will do that Knocking under the my LR3 when decelerating then accelerating
