We have a 2007/MY08 EU4. Well before 180,000km it had a new donk, new turbo and new EGR valves (all at different times). It had never been off-road.
I did the oil cooler change on my 07/MY08 and had to move the glow plug harness and knock sensor wires out the way on each side. At least I thought they were knock sensors. These wrap around the front of the manifold where the Y piece inserts. You can see the wires. They sit under the glow plug harness plate which connects to all three glow plugs on each side.

Shown here where the sensor bolts to the head

Yep, that's them. I got the EU3/EU4 from a post by Disco_Mikey on the D3UK forum, but I've just fired up Microcat and it looks like it's the other way around.
Knock sensors from VIN 7A000001 on, which is the EU3/4 split.
