ARB Compressor install D4 engine bay

My drivers side box has the TCCM black box adjacent the the engine side box wall.

A thread that i found by "sctsprin" showed pictures of the exact same install but I cannot seem to reference the thread.

The ARB compressor sits neatly in between the TCCM Module and the Brake ABS hardware.

A base plate utilising existing various 6mm rivet type screw threads in the base of the box secures the unit.

I will place a quick connect fitting with dust seal on the front bull bar and the isolation switch in the vehicle near the driver door.

I won't need to open the bonnet - just get the 6m hose etc and clip and go.

I did have a twin ARB in its case secured onto of the draw system at rear of the vehicle and used it for 11years before it died.

Having the compressor concealed in the engine bay and not taking room in the vehicle is a big plus for me.

If i had a D4 i would hinge the LH fake intake grille and put an air fitting in there and possibly a switch.

Clever idea. Or you could put a little mini bar in there. You know, with those little bottles you get in hotels. How cool.

Is the thinking here that ARB are superior quality or smaller for the space? Are the Supercheap XTM brand regarded as no good?

Their size is their advantage, and maybe they’re better made, but you can’t go past the big piston ones like the Kings one for speed. They can move a heck of a lot of air. That said, with our smaller tyres it’s less of an issue. I use a Kings and I can get all four tyres up from 12psi quicker than the typical patrol next to me with their 33”. Less volume, high flow. I’d still go something like an ARB though as I do get sick of having to ps l the compressor each time and the fiddling.
