    2010 centre console removal

I am fitting a reverse camera to my Disco 4 and need to access the Fakra plug that is located under the centre console. I can remove the upper part that has the gear change gate and 4wd controls but need to remove the lower part and have no idea how it is attached to the floor.
    Can anyone advise me ?
    Cheers

Pretty easy when you see someone else do it. I have had mine out a couple of times now (MY2011) and it is easier the second time.

    See video below from PowerfulUK.

Thanks, looks like I will have to dismantle a bit more to get to the reverse camera feed

In the 2013 there’s a reversing camera fakra plug under the upper rear trim (under the upper brake light) if that’s any help to you.

I did this in my MY14 so I know it is a little different to yours but are you sure you need to remove the lower part of the console ?

Once the top section is off you should be able to access the plug under the matting as per pic below...

Is the cable with the Fakra plug there in a 2010 model ? I could be wrong but was under the impression that this may have come in later models ? Have you located the other end of it in the tailgate ?

Thanks everyone. I had to take out the whole console because the fakra was tucked well under the carpet. There are two security bolts at the rear adjacent to the seats. They are covered by a mini air vent things. Plugged other end of cable into head unit. Located other end fakra above rear door opening and am just waiting on an rca to fakra cable to plug in to the aftermarket camera. This kit came with the car when I bought it and was supplied by Old Jaguar

Bit late now but a Fakra connector is available with very easy access in the rear. Details in this thread:

Thanks Scott. I found the rear fakra which will be connected to my camera. That cable runs through the car and terminates with another fakra under the console. I have connected the front fakra by cable to the head unit. It just saves running another cable from front to back when there is one already there for that purpose.
I am glad you posted that link as it shows how to do another project I was thinking about - fitting a rear camera to the caravan. Cheers
