Can you swap a 2.7 in for a blown 3.0?

Sounds like a viable option then. This is a 2012, so will a Territory motor fit, seeing as how they're cheaper and easier to find?

There is a whole thread on this forum and on the UK forum about a guy on here (in Aust) who has done it at home - so a viable option. Us the google search option to search for the thread.

Was having a look online at a couple of people who put the 3.6L TDV8 into a D3/D4 and they mentioned although their first choice was to have put in the 4.4, unfortunately it was physically too tall for the engine bay without major mods.

Nothing a pro stock scoop wouldn't fix [bigrolf], i believe they are a 90degree V8 as opposed to the 3.6 which is a 60 degree V8.

Edit wiki says the 3.6 is a 90 degree V8 which is surprising since it shares a lot of parts with the 2.7/3.0.

It's interesting. Isn't the RRS just a D4 in fancy dress? If so, shouldn't the 3.6 be a relatively easy conversion? Note that I say 'relatively easy' with the LR context in mind.

IT is and been done numerous times, 4.4 only fitted to the full fat RR which has a bigger engine bay.

8 cylinders in a V has a different design requirement to 6 cylinders in a V.

Yeah, RR is a bigger car all round. But the 3.6 in a D3/4 would be a sweet pairing if you have one with a blown engine... Not you, Nick, I know yours is fine[bigwhistle]

Yes but anything can be done with balance shafts, split journals etc. Checking on various sites some said it was a 60 degree and others a 90 degree, i was surprised to read that the 4.4TDV8 is built in Mexico - not sure if its used in anything else.
