Will a Darche 270 Eclipse awning, go over the Tailgate when opened

Hi, I just fitted the rhino rack pioneer(2128x1426), with a backbone on the Disco 4, to stay as low as possible. However now I wonder if I would fit a 270 awning will it go over the tailgate when opened? I am already stuck on a 270 so no need to convince me of a different size awning 😉

The Foxwing 270 wouldn’t on mine, but I simply opened awning with tailgate closed.

If opening tailgate later the awning effectively stops the tailgate from fully opening (keeps it almost flat)…wasn’t a big deal for me.

Presume Darche 270 would be similar / hope someone else can confirm

My Foxwing does the same. It hasn’t done any damage however I have thought about remounting it a bit further forward on the mounting bolts at the ends of the roof bars so it sits over the roof a bit further. Doing so might provide a bit more clearance for the rear door.

I have a Drifta 270d awning sitting on a rhino rack on short legs. Just needed to adjust the awning mounting a bit forward or back until the ribs of the awning fitted either side of the tailgate light when open. Once adjusted, it all fits very neatly.
