Post Disco 4 has a loud clunk sound when the engine stops

Not sure where the sound is coming from but appears to have started a few weeks ago and now I'm curious to know what the cause is. Any clues appreciated.

Check engine mounts, these are vacuum assisted, and when the diaphragm fails, the engine will sit hard on the steel stops. A new set of mounts and a few hours labour should sort it out, the lh is the challenge, usual practice is to drop the front differential down to get access.

Red face Thanks for the reply

I had a quick checked the engine mounts and they seem ok but will need to get under and remove the bash plates to be sure. I'll update the thread once a close up inspection is done.

Update: I started a new thread re the Transfer Case, which is where the "clunk" noise is coming from. This thread can now be closed.
