Sounds like I have misunderstood what he was referring to, but I do recall him saying that it can be damaged and it appears the OBW guys didn't notice or care.

I took it back to them yesterday morning to show them the 'screen was 10mm too low just in case they didn't believe the insurance company in the event they didn't get paid, and the guy at OBW was not interested.
All he kept repeating was that the Genuine LR fasteners are crap and theirs are superior.

He asked me if I intended returning it to be repaired whereupon my response was 'not likely'.

IMHO you may have been better off accepting his offer if he was going to change the bits N/C but probably a bit late for that now since you gave them the arse Did you ask if this was the case? If so, it may be cap in hand time.

Also IMHO, all things LANDROVER are not always the best designed & constructed & we are lumped in with those bits simply because they have the LR name &/or P/n on them. Over the years After Market stuff has hit the marketplace & many have been an improvement on the Genuine bits.

Sure that could be the case,but there is absolutely NO excuse for incorrectly fitting the screen.

Anyway,hopefully it is all sorted soon.

Things could be worse,problems with badly fitted replacement windscreens occasionally pop up on the Tojo forums.
The vehicle owner usually knows nothing is wrong until weird electrical issues start to occur,often intermittently,months or even years later.
Water leaking in, gets into the PCB's,ECU's, and associated wiring, mounted under the dash and in the passenger side footwell kick panels causing the issues,usually with corroded wiring plugs, and terminals on the ECUs.
Often a very expensive to repair.

They never offered to replace the fasteners with theirs, and re-do the RHS shroud, and if they had I would have declined as they showed no remorse whatsoever for missfitting the RH shroud or fitting the screen 10mm too low!

And they forgot to tighten the Rh wiper arm.

Had they explained to me that in their opinion the OBW fasteners were superior to the Genuine ones AT THE FIRST VISIT TO REPLACE THE SCREEN then I would have gone with theirs, particularly if they'd said that there'd be no warranty if I insisted they used the genuine ones.

Anyway, their claim doesn't hold any water as the LHS is fine and tight....unless they glued it...

Why would I give them the job to remove the screen and re-fit it 10mm higher to its correct position if they are sooo incompetent they can't get it right in the first place and particularly as any faith I had in their expertise had long disappeared.

Their attitude was appalling.

I have gained some satisfaction in them knowing I have taken it to another supplier to get it fixed.. at no cost to me; why would I need to go cap in hand?
