    Bloody land rover

    Hi all. A problem I've been having for a while with my lr3 tdv6 2008 is the p132b-21 and p132b-22 code, started out very rarely, only got it say two or three times a week (I drive around 30-50ks daily) now it's at least 2-3 times per drive! Originally I suspected an air leak which did turn out to be the case and it fixed another fault code I was having but it didn't stop the turbo code. Tired lubricating the turbo actuator with penetrating oil and wd40 which did seem to do something for a little bit the code did come back, I've tried fuel additives which I thought were a scam and was proven right as it did nothing, I have replaced the upper intercooler hose as it had split so perhaps the other hoses need replacing too? I'm very stuck atm, appreciate any help!

    Check the intercooler for cracks, i know of 2 similar age D3's that had those faults and the IC had split on a seam.

    Hang on! It's an 18 year old car and for some time it's been politely telling you to address a turbo issue with more and more urgency. Not sure what more you expect. Work your way through the workshop manual error codes. If you're stuck, then you'll need to find an Indy. If it's the original turbo, you may be best to bight the bullet and replace it.

    That doesn't actually look to be leaking.

    I'd still replace it though as it soon might.

    Stuck turbo

    Our D3 plays up regularly with a turbo actuator code every few months. As well as wiggling the actuator with a wire hook, I put 1 litre of 2 stroke mineral oil in with a full tank of diesel and it seems to work its way through over the course of a few days (until next time).

    Given the issue lies somewhere between the actuator and the moving vanes in the exhaust housing, one would think a dedicated product designed to de-coke the vanes might have a longer lasting result than 2 stroke.

    Every leaking intercooler I've seen is accompanied by a sizeable oil stain.
