I had also looked at the strap on mirrors as well.

I did not mind the ORA Mirror Mounted Strap but had the same flat back mirror as my previous mirrors which get the full force of the wind drag and shack alot.

Again, I am happy with the choice I have made for myself. For a mirror without a stabiliser bar it shacks very little so it may be easily used while driving.

    Any updates or recent experience?

    Hi All,

I am about to start towing a caravan with my 2010 d4 so iam looking for mirrors. I think i will go with the Milenco mirrors. There are now two designs.

There is the original Aero 2 and now slightly larger Grand Aero.

Mirrors | Milenco Limited | Caravan Products | Caravan Security | UK

Has anyone been using either of these? Do either fold the mirrors in due to trucks passing? Good visibility without too much vibration?

When we did a caravan towing course in Brisbane we were told that additional rear view mirrors were only required if the driver could not see a person standing against either side of the rear of the van.

We do not used additional mirrors but do use a video camera mounted on the rear of the van.

The police in wa use fingers....if you can't see their fingers sticking out from the rear of the van....it will be costly.

Brother in law got yelled at by a cop....."get some mirrors for your car". He had a rear camera, but not good enough. He was lucky to get off.

If you can see all the way down, then you are good.

I got a pair of Mirrors from Camec they are cheap and functional and use a suction cap to attach to the main mirror. They are simple and they work. The upside is you can adjust their view with your mirror controls.

Downside you loose some of the main mirror view. They are a bit small but that helps reduce the mirrors being pushed back by passing trucks. Last time I looked they were $19 each.

I have used the Milenco Aero 2 for two years...they perform really well..very little vibration and they have never come loose.

Same story for a mate with a D4.

I have used the ora big red for years but have recently changed to the brunsgaard mirrors. The best mirrors i have ever used, they are lightweight, very little vibration and take less than 5 sec to remove or put on.They are not cheap but well worth the money.

Just purchased a set of the Milenco Grand Aero's. Larger than the Aero's, but a massive vision spread. They do attach easily. This weekend is the tryout.
