QUERIES: Drawer system with cargo barrier / Seat covers

Hi,
If you havn't already bought any, I got seat covers for front and rear seats from these guys below.
Cost $390 delivered and fit nicely. Airbag compatible.
I'm pretty happy with them.

I made my own drawers for my old Jackaroo and they fitted in the D3 as well - heaps better than buying them if you have the time and tools. The whole thing is removable - drawers, boxes and the casing. It only takes a few minutes to install and remove.
The photos are the boxes in my old Jackaroo - I havn't taken any in the D3 yet. I like the idea of being able to remove them after a trip.

I everything is strapped down well, I don't think a Milford barrier is necessary, and I can still use the 2nd row of seats.

I got a set of sheepskin saet covers, front seats only, airbag compatible, made by Mortels (near Newcastle NSW) for $495. They needed my car to make them, but may now have the pattern.

There is a place called 'Best of Off Road' in Victoria - they can pretty much make drawers to your specs.

Had a look ..thanks. They are much like the 'Black Duck' canvas seat covers. I had Black Duck in my Patrol. Very durable,and they protect well but not the best cloth to sit on. My other half has already cast a 'no ' vote against more canvas covers.

Do you mind if I ask why you feel they are not the best to sit on? I found exactly the opposite with my last set of these..........

What's the point of having leather seats, if you are going to cover them?

I know, protection... last longer... kids... pets... etc but you would never get to enjoy them.

Resale value blah blah...... :D

The thing is, I actually find the leather uncomfortable expecially in summer..... the canvas looks as nice, if not better, and breathes nicely too..... all boils down to personal preference I guess.......

They are 'hard' to touch by comparison to other cloth, and as they wear, they loose whatever little 'pile' they have, and get an even harder feel. When they do require a wash, they don't come up very well. As I said, some of this comes from my other half, but I actually agree. I would sit on just about anything but plastic.........but happy wife happy life!!

I should advise that I went for the cloth seats in my D4. I don't like leather for outback use. Apart from the potential damage that can be done to them, covers or not, that would be a waste as Guss has said.

I found the leather in my D3 great. It did get dirty after a while and needed cleaning, but it was always very comfortable to sit on. And mud is really easy to wash off the leather.
