You could use a hayman reece adjustable tow hitch instead. May be more cost effective then going to land rover for the disco 4 hitch.
My 2007 rrs td6 has a long drop towhitch supplied and is toooooo low for me even with the toung turned the other way , the disco 4 towhitch i have been told is much shorter than the modle i have , can anyone enlighten me on this and if the diso 4 towhitch fits into same slot on my rrs and also are they parts item from a landy dealer .

						G'day Al,
Depending on the width of the wheels the Disco 4 hitch may not fit, this is why the drop-down setup was designed, our SDV6 D4 has 19 inch alloys (not sure of width), but the spare is full-size and identical to the other wheels, however my neighbours RRS (3.0) has 20's on it and it has a 19 inch spare as the full size is not compatible with the tow pack, if you have the standard 18's on your car it should fit, we have both the tongue and a british type reciever for our car (don't ask how we got it, but it was when D3's first came out) it is a much nicer height even than the newer one, and does not rattle and clunk around when we have the old cars on the trailer.
Good Luck
Cheers Will
P.S. oh there is also somehting called a Mitch Hitch (google it) that is mounted in the bumper, not sure if they work with the rrs, but worth a look, even though they are butt-ugly IMO
Yep, that might be plan b
My brother and Father use this tongue on both of their RRS's. Not sure who the Aussie distributor is but I can find out.
Alumistinger Aluminum Ball Mount
The chassis receptacle is identical.
The 10MY hitches are now all you can buy (previous hitch/tongue NLA)
If you choose to use the new hitch, you must also use the new tongue assembly which can be use up or down not like the previous tongue.
Thanks Pete , at least the chassis reseptacle is the same , just need to see where my spare wheel clearance is ,i have a feeling it should be ok , need to fit a trig coulpling for my jayco camper , And the drop down hitch receiver is too low . Hoping the newer d4 shorter hitch receiver will do it for me .

AAAAAhhhhggggg < went to the stealer today to look at the disco 4 tow hitch receiver , looks like it will get me out of the newer then when i found out it was $1000 including another toungue i nealy swore . Any way will see if i can get one somewhere else < $1000 is bs.
Will now investigate a high rise toungue or somthing similar and use the exsisting tow hitch receiver for now. Thanks for the help guys.
Al
Might be time for the Mitch hitch. Gives the extra height for about $660. Then put your own tongue in.
