So the vendors at the OL booth at the show I went to are wrong as well?
You need to calm down with your objections to this mod mate. You're like a broken record on every forum asking and seeking advice for this.
That is absolute BULL **** - if it does not have a plate saying it is compliant for fitment to a RRS then it is not compliant. End of story.
You have been told this over and over and still go looking for the incorrect advice you want to hear.
Both Meccles and myself have contacted OL and when pushed OL admit the bar fits but is not compliant and they have no plans to go through the process of making it compliant. It is not OL themselves who are selling this for fitment to the RRS but franchise owners who are not owned by OL.
By all means fit the bar, a few people have but they made the decision knowing of the possible legal, insurance and roadworthy issues. It is a risk decision that owners will most likely get away with. Thankfully it is more of a compliance issue rather than a safety issue but people need to understand the ramifications.
Oh and the RRS and the D4 do not share the same chassis - the RRS is 7" shorter and there are other minor changes at the front and other areas - hence why the D4 bar does not just bolt straight on - the mounting kit has to be modified to make it fit the RRS - that in itself breaks its compliance.

people care about compliance?
Fine - but get them to show you the compliance plate that shows you the bar is compliant to fit to a RRS. If they have the correct approved compliance plate then they have made it compliant - but no one has done it as yet.
If you want to install a bar that is not compliant then go for it - your call but you need to understand the associated issues.
If you are so sure there are no issues why haven't you got OL to fit one for you - you have been talking about it long enough.

I'll get it when I can afford it now that I've had advice from people in person.
I had advice from people in person as well and it’s was BS. You’re call a few have fitted them just hope you never have an accident or it gets checked. Myself I chose not to take that risk. A personal call.
fitted a OL D4 bar to my MY10 RRS some 5 years ago along with a RAI, plus all the following non LR approved accessories
Warn Winch, bash plates, Rock Sliders and step out bars, etc etc.. pretty sure ADR compliance was to protect a failing car
industry.. which is now non existent in OZ..
Zilch! That looks nuts! I'd like to know more about your mods if you could PM me. Cheers!
