Whilst mine regularly had oil spat back into the airbox from the secondary turbo prior to fitting the updated drain pipe, the MAFs have looked clean so I've never been moved to touch them. Even the MAP sensor stays clean, unlike the TD5's that seemed to carbon-up regularly. I carry a spare MAP sensor but that's only because I bought one to temporarily replace the original that went dud but couldn't get to a dealer for a couple of weeks to get it replaced under warranty. The UK-sourced very much cheaper one arrived in a few days and is the same as those fitted to later 2.7 D3s.

For that money, jump on car sales as there are quite a few well priced TDV8 3.6 RR sports for sale. They are a lovely thing (Except for Firefox's). Worth a test drive.
My 2 cents worth
Good luck

thats a bit naughty in terms of representation when you read the spec, it claims its 2993 when clearly it is a series 1 V6, so its a 2.69 and a bit.. nearly 2.7..
The dealer needs some serious education
p.s. MY10 models did not hit until October/November Build in 2009 i thought

My 3.0TDV6 2010 model engine number ends in 306DT.
Maybe check the engine number and see if it ends with 276DT?
Could be coincidence too....
