    Guys,

I just bit the bullet and purchased 4 new BWI struts & Rear pads and rotors from Rimmer Bros UK. Shipped to Melbourne.

Total including import duty which i should have asked them to help me out was $2,200.00. Mind you, it all came in 3 days and looks exactly like what i need.

    Brakes installed and excellent.

Suspension i am yet to installed, maybe i might tackle the rear first as i've heard the fronts are a pain in the A.

I have jack stands and two trolley jacks, plus hopefully enough tools.

    Cheers,

    Jeremy

    RRS air struts

I recently replaced my front struts, and front levelling valve.
The original struts were Delphi and lasted 200k so replaced with the same, imported from UK
The levelling valve was contaminated with powdered desiccant. Also refurbed the compressor and dryer

The front struts are easy to replace if you have a 15mm ratchet ringy ( to release the nuts on the top of the strut) and some long nosed pliers ( to manoeuvre the air lines into the Voss connectors)

I just replaced front and rears. Let's just say I improved by the time I'd got to the 4th strut.

Process is relatively easy. You will need a ratchet spanner 15mm. 12mm for air lines. A few jacks and a bit shifter, and a large socket for the bottom bolt and nut. Take the pressure off the bottom nut and spray some lube on it. Once the nut is undone, you can slide it out, but you might need to jack underneath it so the bolt slides easier. One thing I noticed was the new struts already had the air fittings waiting for a bare line to be plugged in, you just take the old fitting off the line with a flat head and plug the line into the new strut.

You can get 1 strut done in 30mins. After you are finished you need to start the car when it's on the ground and raise to off road height, wait a bit then lower to normal. after this you should have no fault codes or anything. I did not disconnect the battery. Just left a door open in case.

Now I am no longer facing the end of my life when going over big potholes at speed.

    Cheers,
    Jeremy
