Geez that's brutal isn't it! Perhaps a $1000 remap including EGR deactivation would be money better spent?! (Disclaimer I have no idea if that would be an acceptable way to leave a faulty EGR valve!)

I think LR wanted about $1500 for each part when I enquired last year. They had none in stock. So the remaining cost is labour.

Whether to replace or disable or remap depends on what's wrong with the current EGR. It probably needs to be removed to work that out.

Some or maybe all remaps don't fully disable the EGR, but reduce its operation so less exhaust is recycled.

So i called BS on the dealer. Rang parts department and the EGR was only $660 (GST Inc) so that equates to 10 hours of labour to replace.

Rang Ritters and the complete change was only $1400, They also recommended doing both for $2300

EGR Valve Replacement on 2010 TDV8

TRS do a remap that disables the EGR's with no warning lights. I've been doing a lot of investigation n the last couple of days.

I would inspect one, ensure it's in the fully closed position, immediately fit a pair of emulators to disable both fully. Emulators set cost $500 approx. That's what I did, before the EGRs failed.

I bought this product about 1 year ago. I've been very happy with it. Some have experienced slow delivery and communication. I didn't.

The Superchip (aka Bluefin) remap on mine apparently disables the EGRs. I haven't tried to verify that.

Hi rar110, where do the emulators go? Can I assume in the engine bay? By the way both MAP's cleaned both looked equally dirty. I'll see how I go tomorrow. Cheers Marty
