    Cooper S/TMAXX on Compomotive Rims

Range Rover Sport L320 owner here.

Just ordered a set of Compomotive rims for it that I am importing direct from the UK. Now looking at what tyres to put on the rims and looking at the Cooper S/TMAXX. The sizes I am looking at are either the 265/60R18 or 285/60R18. I would prefer to go with the 285s but unsure if they will fit OK without rubbing. The outside diameter of the 265 is 781mm vs OD of the 285 is 804mm. What's the max OD I could go without rubbing/mods being required?

    Thanks.

    Go the 265/60/18,less problems.

    And maybe not the coopers.....

Yeah, I know there would be less problems witht the 265s but I've already got 285s on at the moment and I like the width - looks good on the RRS.

What's wrong with the Coopers? I've only heard good things.

Just checked legality for mods with Vicroads and apparently I can increase wheel diameter by a max 50mm. Does anybody know the stock wheel diameter? I'd measure the diameter of my current wheels but they're 285/35/22 on 22inch riims and I don't think they are stock.

I run coopers and only ever had a flat due to a 6inch tech screw. Never had a problem either. Now unless your running solid rubber that will go through any tyre.

Std nominal dia on L320 is 29" although lots of owners fit D3/4 30" or thereabouts.

The 285/35R22s are close to 30" diameter. Of course you could always change your tyre placard for one off a D3/4 that shows the bigger stockies... and the 285/60R18s are legal at 31.5". It's basically the same underpinnings.

That means I'd have to buy a new car. Not an option, not for a few years anyway.

Sorry... I meant the tyre placard off one of those, not the vehicle.

The L322 placard shows 30" tyre sizes and says "Range Rover" on it. Just saying...

Ha! I thought you were hinting I should get a new car with bigger stock wheels.
