    Clean our EGR's

I looked at the emulators but am not convinced that this modification keeps the car legal and if picked up by an insurance assessor could void an insurance claim...my mechanic has an EGR cleaner, cost about $200 to have them cleaned and a brilliant result. Noticeably better performance.

Which EGR cleaner did he use? Regular use of an induction cleaner is a possible alternative to disabling the EGRs. I did both.

Emulators are an uncommon modification. I doubt any assessor would know what they were. The boxes fit inside the ECU box. No one will look that far.

An assessor will be looking for other more obvious stuff that hasn’t been declared and that change the performance of a car. A remap is also difficult to identify and unlikely to be picked up.

Oh the mechanic recommended and then sold it .

They normally do not work for long and the problems come back soon and wallet is empty.

Who ended up doing the work for you? Could you share the cost as well?

    Thanks

Autocode done the work, price was $1150 which was comparable to 2 other quotes, got a few other ecu,s upgraded in the process. Definately a much better car to drive, not sure if it improved fuel economy at this stage but that wasnt the objective of having it done.

Mark at Autocode quoted me $600 just for the EGR blanking, and another $1150'for a remap for extra power/torque...or did I misunderstand that and it's actually $1150 for the lot?
