You do not remove the EGRs, just remove pipes from EGRs to inlet and fit blanks to EGR and inlet holes. Also need to cut off the butterflies that is at the entrance to the inlet manifold. So that bit is not reversible.
Easy enough to do it all yourself if you have played with mechanical things yourself in the past. The guy from BAS (Peter) responds nicely to silly questions too.
I think the EGR Delete software from BAS also includes a mild throttle response update, could be wrong but feels like it and think i read it somewhere. Can pay for and apply the software for a tune-up at the same time.
EGR delete is not for a performance improvement but helps stop carbon build up in the manifold and restricting performance as the engine gets older.
Anyway I have had no problems after it being installed for about 3 years.
Why did you go to all the extra work physically on the egr's rather than just the remap being enough ?

Fitting the blanking plates and cutting off the the inlet butterfly as well as the software was the instructions. Maybe the software doesn't stop things working, just stops errors after you fit blanking, but that's just a wild guess. You could confirm with BAS if the physical blanking is still required.

I contacted Pete, at BAS, and unless your egr is sticking open with errors, the software patch is all you need to disable egr function.

The issue on some vehicles was that the EGR had already failed and as such then needed to be blanked, often if the EGR is still functioning you can just turn them off in the ECU.

    But that's just my understanding.

I have just had mine done last week. There was an error on one of the valves but this has since been cleared along with a remap done on a dyno. The valves have been programmed to stay closed and also physically locked.

Yes, it does run much better, but I'm not sure how much is contributed to the remap. It is nice to not have the engine light on though!

    Pre remap 195Kw and 617Nm

    Post remap 226Kw and 715Nm

I can not first hand confirm that. I was advised by my competent Inde that would be the case and I went with that.

My brother blanked his MY08 TDV8 RRS after performance issues pointed to a leaking EGR valve. The electrical connectors are still fitted and the pcm is original. The RRS is used almost entirely to tow his van and has had no issues since blanking the EGRs.
