    EGR eradication confusion RRS 2007 TDV8 3.6l

Hi folks sorry about all the spam lately with this new to me vehicle..

Just thinking I should disable the EGRs on this as from what I can tell its a good idea. But yeah just perusing the forums here and there seems to be a few options and I'm not clear on which would be best or how to go about any of them. From what I can tell you can just delete the EGRs from the ECU, you can get emulators from somewhere like autocode.. or you can just blank them off?

I'm based in Darwin so I can't just drive into a place to get the ECU modified.. I do have the GAP IIDtool on order if that helps with any of this...

I'm ok at basic mechanics.. can service a car etc... the youtube video about installing the emulators looks very basic.. just not sure if there needs to be any reprogramming or anything.. would I get a remap done also if reprogramming ECU and can this be done without going into a tuning place?

    Any suggestions/pointers most welcome!

    Cheers
    Paul

You can use your IID tool to buy/install remap from Peter Bell Automotive to disable the EGRs and/or increase engine performance.

    See below webpage.

Just blanking them off will throw codes like mad. Have to fit an emulator if you want to blank, or tune them out. There can be some unwanted cooling system impact if you remove the lot (refer other thread going). I think if I did mine again I would have left them in and tuned them out.

Had each of my TDV8ís done with the full ECU remap that takes them out of play plus blanking plates in case something fails. Not cheap but money well spent if you do a lot of miles or are towing.... or just like a bit more power EGR eradication confusion RRS 2007 TDV8 3.6l

Plates look fine, but i couldnít comment on the IIDtool delete. Mine was done through Davis Performance and I know it took a while to fully de-bug the EGR delete, but that was a few years ago now. Someone else here might have more info on the other tune / delete packages.
    Good luck!
