    TDV8 3.6 oil in coolant

    Hello everyone.

Have a problem of oil in coolant. Is well mixed into a nice pink thick shake. The oil cooler inbetween v already been replaced.

    Thinking possibly the trans cooler?

Anyone know of this happening? I will check trans oil to see if also milkshake next week given the chance.

Other info is oil level in engine unchained in appearance and level.

Obviously don't want it to be a head gasket or worse a crack somewhere. Do these engines commonly blow head gaskets?

    Thankyou in advance.

Best if you can avoid driving it until the transmission oil is checked. A failed transmission cooler is a distinct possibility.

Be aware that the transmission is filled when up to temperature with the engine running and that it will overflow if the engine is not running. You should be able to carefully loosen the fill plug enough to see if the oil is contaminated or not without loosing much oil.
