    Flogged out auto output spline?

What are the symptoms? I suspect mine is about to go. New front diff and half shafts (genuine). Front and rear driveshafts seem fine. Rear diff seems OK. All bushes look and feel good. I get a decent clunk when lifting off or on torque reversal (D to R, etc). Sometimes a nasty bang. Sounds 'central'. Only 140k kms on it...

It doesn't present like that (more metallic and harsh than a typical centre bearing support failing) and the rear driveshaft feels pretty tight and without noticeable play so I suspect not. I'd be pretty happy if it was that simple and cheap... I'll see if I can get my ridiculously busy indie to assess in the next few days. I've got it booked in for 11Feb but I think I'll have to park it long before then.

    Update

Had a look with my indie after hours last night on a hoist. One of the front diff mounting bolts had backed out. Tightened them all up and it is smooth and quiet again. All fixes should be this easy/cheap/effective.
