Temporary Power Loss under normal driving

Hi Everyone. First post on AULRO so please forgive me if I've done it incorrectly. New to me 2012 RRS 3.0L TD, is having an issue. Could well be my error with a button or similar.

When driving along, under seemingly random conditions, ie speed has been different on different roads/days, the car looses power and pressing down on the accelerator does nothing. Lift the accelerator off and then back down again and off we go. This seems to happen multiple times in a row, then its ok again. Possibly because cruise speed has been reached, so it may be occurring under acceleration.

First time, it happened I thought it was because the traction control had moved to the grass/gravel/snow setting and I thought ah it thinks I'm going to spin the wheels so has backed off power. But today the traction was in normal setting and it seemed a little worse. Continued driving without stopping, nervously waiting for it to happen and it didn't. Stopped at the destination. Started up again after about 20min and had no problems at all for the rest of the trip with all variations of driving from highway to suburban roads and carparks.

The first time I had the windows up, so possibly didn't notice this next bit. Today there seemed to be a squealing noise coming from the front drivers side wheel, like a brake pad was just rubbing, along with a hiss, like a pressure line leaking. Has since stopped making the noises, so I don't know if they are related or it was something else. Air suspension works fine and brakes all seem good.

I don't have a scan tool yet, GAP IID on the way soon. But hopefully the gurus have some suggestions on what I could try in the meantime, until I can see if there is a code to match.

I'm a bit worried it might happen and not recover on lifting the accelerator.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Quite possibly the brake light switch. Easy to replace - buy online or I got one from Repco in a pinch.

Thanks Ontheway, was indeed brake light switch related. All sorted now. Thanks again.
