    3.0 SDV6 cam cover/inlet manifold swap

Well, our 3.0 SDV6 has got about 150,000km on it and so far is going well. However we tow a fairly decent van, and given history of inlet manifold cracking, I'm a bit worried that one hot day going up a steep hill, that may happen to us as an inappropriate time.
Spoke with a good local indie (british offroad) who advised they're now using the alloy replacement inlet/manifold covers. Found them for sale in Aus and figured they must come from China. Found them easily on Alibahbah. Got two alloy inlet manifold/rocker covers and one alloy thermostat delivered to my door for $580. Must say quality looks good.
So - when I'm feeling brave (or stupid) and have a week spare, I was going to attempt to do the swap out. Is this madness or reasonable? I've watched the videos, got access to all tools etc. And was going to allow a week.
    thoughts?

I've only done it on a 2.7 and wasn't hard just fiddly, make sure you number all the hard fuel lines so they go back in the same location and get a set of injector washers.
