Makes no difference to wear or noise if the diameter and width are the same as the higher profile tyre.

I'd expect higher profile ones to roll over more thus exposing the edge blocks to more wear and thus more noise later in life. I've seen that wide low profile tyres on the correct rim width wear quite flat and don't heel & toe nearly so much. Perhaps my side block wear was more due to my running lowish pressures in what have been higher profile and narrower tyres prior to my current vehicle.
