I wondered if my recovery tracks would have been of any use but as I couldn't remove the rocks from in front of the wheels with a shovel I doubt that tracks could have been fitted, but possibly behind the rear wheels. The front wheels were hard up against rocks and the body caught underneath on a rock, possibly between the front sub-frame and the gearbox cross-member.
My wife asked if I wanted a winch for Christmas...

Recovered by 2 snatches from a mid-size 4wd tray-top - the 1st lifted the RR directly up the rocks that had been blocking the wheels but stopped the tray-top then a 2nd, longer run-up as it was still caught and unable to move on its own. I suspect that it upturned a large rock in the process.
Extended mode didn't occur but possibly good that it didn't as the suspension was fully extended - offroad and Llams recovery mode and still trying.
time for some decent tyres mate!
The BFGs are working quite well unless the RR is grounded at maximum height, only occasionally needing a blip of the throttle to clear them. Hosing the mud and gravel out of the calipers and rims, from under the guards, the lower grille, doors, mirrors, windscreen and roof is a daily routine.

I could have made good use of them today as they may have prevented me having to walk back to the house a 2nd time. The RR went to recover my 4x2 bike bogged whilst spraying a firebreak but then had to be recovered itself when it only wanted to reverse against the fence. 100 metres of cable was needed to reach the bike after the RR made its mess.

Aquired another l322, previous one drown engine at cape york said affair on my part.
Setting this one up for caravan touring and the simply trips, not the extreme l had at Cape York.
