2010 Range Rover Autobiography Black Edition 5.0 V8

    Hi all,

Am new to Land Rover. I finally have joined the club.....
I had a rare unexpected opportunity to pick up a mint 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 'Black Edition' with brutally, thirsty 5.0 V8.
I came to realise later that there are only 700 of these produced worldwide, and only 15 delivered here to Australia.
It has Black Edition embossed on the rear seats, and several other areas of the car with rather special accents that lets you know it is not just an autobiography RR...I counted myself lucky, extremely to say the least.

This was never my original plan.
I have been waiting specifically for a 2010-2012 L322 RR TDV8 and it must come with ivory interior....I have come to know that these specifications are hard to come by.
(In fact I was so sure that I will be buying a Range Rover at some stage that I actually bought the number plates months before I got the car.... my wife and my in-laws thought I was off the rails.... thanks to YouTube and all the late nights L322 videos over and over again....)

Anyhow, this one Black Edition came up rather unexpectedly.....and unfortunately for me, it was listed on sale interstate in SA.... and during lockdown.... Upon coming upon the ad, which started as a quick glance and progressed quickly to obsessively visiting the page every hour... I knew I had to get this car.
I couldn't sleep on this one...it keep me awake that night...
Due to lockdowns and restrictions, I was unable to inspect the car in person, and I also knew this would fly off the dealership if I don't act fast, and I would regret it BIGTIME if I let this go.
The next day, I rang the dealer. I had to hold myself back as not to sound too desperate over the phone with the dealer but boy, my heart was racing.
To cut the story short, I took a plunge blindly within a few hours after a few back and forth inquiries about the car incl. service history, condition, etc.... and off I went & sealed the deal.
Finally, this car got transported over across the border to Victoria just 2 weeks ago...the wait was a killer. I survived.
Here it is ...after a week at mechanic for road worthy cert, a few touch ups on very very minor issues.
I have planned in my head for gear box flush and change, and transfer box service at the next oil change.
It is low kms for its age, mechanic has checked it and it had no timing chain issues. *phew!* (yes I know it might come my way...:/)
I sure will be servicing it regularly....

I must say, having come from Merc (AMG V8s) and BMWs, this is a whole new ride.
It is different. Good different. This car is timeless. So classic in its chassis...everything about it really.
From the driver's seat.... that panoramic view. Breathtaking. There is none other like this.
The ride is a world of its own. So NOW, I understand.
    I caught the bug.
I believe THAT is a good thing.
Better late than never. Never been happier.

Know how you feel when I bought mine there was one of these for sale that made my final 2 on the short list.

Looks really good and the colours they used for paint and interior work while standard are subtle changes and work very well

Really wanted it and tried really really hard to justify to myself buying the one I found

In my case went for the diesel (ivory/jet interior with Baltic blue exterior) still wanted the one you picked up although content enough with the one I have

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
