Sorry I haven't read this thread fully, but if it helps I remember there is 2 fuses for the air and one of them I think will stop the light.
Also, it isn't hard to hot wire the air pump. The battery feed is in the right compartment and the lead to feed wire is nearby, so I rigged up a wire to manually control the air, for a trip (Big trailer, air suspension fault, fraser island - - didn't like not having control of the suspension)
