L322 - air sus inactive (with a twist)

Sorry I haven't read this thread fully, but if it helps I remember there is 2 fuses for the air and one of them I think will stop the light.
Also, it isn't hard to hot wire the air pump. The battery feed is in the right compartment and the lead to feed wire is nearby, so I rigged up a wire to manually control the air, for a trip (Big trailer, air suspension fault, fraser island - - didn't like not having control of the suspension)

Does anybody know if a Scangauge can be used to reset fault codes in an RR?

A mate is coming over with one on his Pajero and he uses it to reset his and his wife's car (?) with it.

BTW, my transmission has now decided to work properly again.

Maybe if I wait long enough the suspension will start working properly too!

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but the Rangie has just **** a front airbag, and I want to get something straight in my head.

When I replace the airbags/struts, can I just use the fault reset procedure using the pushbuttons on the dash to get everything working again, or do I need something more?

Only reason I ask, is that I haven't got off my arse yet to get a IID tool, and I can't afford 2 new front struts and the IID tool all at the same time now...

I'm an idiot really, I new the airbags were on their last legs, but I always find something more fun to buy... (like more landys...:D)

Any thoughts?

Sad to say - you will need a tool of some sort to reset the EAS error code.

Can you get by with just one airbag ATM, or are they both gone?

Just one has gone at the moment. I suppose I could buy one and the IID tool, then replace the other next month?

Hi, hope you've got room for a Scot based in Glasgow. Hardly local I realise!
I've got a bizarre problem on my '02 L322 4.4.
This thread seems to be closely aligned.
My battery suddenly went flat overnight reading 1 volt.
Disconnected and recharged same. Diagnosed that the HEVAC resistor pack was to blame and replaced same with LR supplied part. In the meantime the Air Sus fault message had come up and whilst the car is at normal ride height, it wont go up or down. The led is lit on the centre of the raise/lower control switch. Nor does it lower when pushing the button on the door. It flashes the lower led a couple of times then goes back to light the centre position.

Couldn't clear the fault with my RSW All-Comms so put it onto a friend's Testbook. Testbook could not communicate with the car. The testbook message screen is shown below.

I then tried the reset routines suggested by Catch-22 and Rangibit. It starts of fine and brings up the vin no. When you move to the next level where your looking for the equivalent of the sum of the last five numbers it says Lock: 01 and the numbers increment to 40 something. If I select Lock: with my number it gives a range of code which mean nothing to me and certainly not what the quote for the next step.
I've also attached 3 pics of a plug found hanging when we replaced the resistor pack.The location is obvious from from the visible pedal and yes it's RHD. The questions are:-
1. Any ideas why I'm nothing getting the responses as outlined by Catch-22?
2. Can anyone help by recognising the cable and say where it goes?

One last thing, the indicators don't flash when operating the remote keyfob but they did before this started?

Glad i'm not the only one with eas dramas.Mine has air susp inactive/hdc inactive,plus abs,brake and dsc lights on as well.These things come and go,we;ve had over 500 mils of rain here over the last few days,im hoping its just condensation:(.

Thanks for the ideas on resetting the suspension inactive message. My L322 showed the message and the manual switch orange light is ON. The switch also does not change the height when selected up or down, however the suspension continues to work as advertised - lowers above 110kph, rises after stopping for a while. The battery was changed recently and I doubt the steering recommendation was followed, however the inactive message did not occur immediately after the battery change. Regards RR_RR

Hello fellow RR owners...

Seems i too am falling into the trap of Air Suspension woes, and thought i would post my issue for others to reference.

Firstly my issues began when i jacked my right rear wheel up for a simple tyre change, once i removed the wheel the self leveling system "adjusted" and made it impossible to put either the original or spare wheel back on without chocking up the jack for extra height.

The problems continued once i began to lower the car as the suspension dropped to the bump stops on all 4 corners and like the original post the LEDs in the dash extinguished. After removing the 57 Fuse and disconnecting the battery for an hour (to 100% ensure all ECU's were asleep) i put everything back and it all reset itself back to normal (with the added L to R lock of the steering as discussed in this thread).


THEN...

One day whilst approaching a STEEP driveway which causes my tow bar to scrape slightly i increased my ride height to off road. Then when leaving just allowed the car to settle down itself after increasing my speed over 50kmph. I was soon to regret this as i found then progressively (over a week) my entire right side dropped to the bump stops and again the LEDs extinguished. After having a mate with a Diag tool check it over it needed a Reset Key which he didn't own... took it to the dealer and it was all reset no issues... Until the 7 days passed again but this time only the right rear dropped to the bump stops showing "AIRSUSP.FAULT, SELFLEVELINGINACTIVE and MAX 60kmph" (these are not direct quotes)

So... this time being the right rear causing most of the issues all along, i had the bag replaced today... So far so good and all has been reset. I have a trip to Brisbane in you guessed it 7 days... so here is hoping the bag was bleeding out and that the fault isn't the height sensor...

Has anybody else had a leaking bag cause similar problems?
