I don't think you need to be too fussy with oil. We use Comma semi-synthetic 5w/30 in them. So long as it's a decent brand to the right grade, you'll be fine.

Well I went the cheap oil option with valvoline synpower 5w40.

I did fuel filter air filter headlights wiperblades etc.

When trying to get the oil filter off I couldn't and the 35mm plastic nut sheared off. I filled it with oil as I needed a car to drive but there's a job for the near future :(

I didn't even budge the filter housing and it doesn't leak.

I really don't know why these seem to be over-tightened, the O-ring that does the sealing is completely independant of the tension on the thread.
Just tight enough that it can't vibrate loose, and it's done.
