Call LR or any dealer and ask for a check on recall history will also provide you with that info.
I had my 2005 td6 front diff shaft done as a repair and then again some 6 moths later as a factory recall and it did not have any "rubber donut and heatshield" fitted on either occasion.
Just last week, I replaced my flogged out splined shaft .
Genuine part, new one has a CV joint at front diff.
Entailed replacing the diff pinion yoke and new shaft / CV joint assembly; bolted up to existing donut at T'fer case.
Not cheap at around $500 parts only, but better than just replacing the front diff splined yoke ( around $200) as the original shaft spline will usually be (mine was!) worn as well.
This car had obviously missed the recall and looking at other things on it possibly all due to slack maintenance/servicing.
And no service history supplied with the car.
I asked at MR automotive, Redcliffe, when they checked the car on the hoist (after I'd bought it and drove it back from Melbourne the same day!) .
They suggested that its too "long in the tooth" to get warranty; ie 9 years old and 250,000km.
They sold me all the parts-- a "kit". They offered to fit it for around $400.
Did it myself- 1/2 a day.
I wouldn't trust the local dealer anyhow! I hear lots sorry tales.
