Looks the goods, I put a tradesman low profile rack on mine which I'm very happy with..what's the eas lift tool do for you? And how much was it?
Hi everyone,
Just joined up with AULRO and loving it.
I thought I would share some photos I've taken from my last couple of trips out to the Vic High Country of my '03 Range.
Going to set it up as a tourer and so far I've got the:
- BritPart EAS lift diagnostic tool which works great
- Maxxis Bighorn 275/65/18 muddies
- Second battery with the L322 DT90 kit from Drivesafe that i found here on AULRO!
- Ironman fridge.
Ive got more ideas in mind for my next few items like a cage ontop and some high mounted light attached to it. Maybe an LED bar tucked away somewhere nice and hidden also.
Oh and an awning too.
Any other suggestions?

Nice looking rig mate
Ill have a look into the tradesman rack. I would get a low profile one too.
The EAS tool I have works great. Ive made standard height about 35mm higher all round and offroad hight is about 75mm higher all round. I only use offroad hight if i REALLY have too though. With the bags pumped up so much it gets very stiff and bouncy in offroad but using standard with 33inch tyres and 35mm lift gets over most stuff.
It's made by GAP Diagnostics and I bought it from Britpart.com for $300-400 shipped. Can't remember exactly.

You run it with the buttons on the steering wheel using the screen on your dash. Very simple.
Another option for a low profile rack – the Rhino Pioneer platform fits. It is a flat platform that can have any of their bits added to it (including awning). It mounts to the vehicle with the specific leg kit. They donot have it as an option in their book but it fits with the same legs used in the 3 bar kit, just need to position the cross mounts to suit the leg spacing. Only thing missing (why they don’t list it) is the exact instructions and predrilled position for an L322, takes a bit of measuring and drill extra holes for the new position. And if you want to transfer it to another vehicle, just need a new leg kit.

Looks great.
What are the tyres like on the black stuff? Are they quiet or noisy? Any idea what sort of KM you can get out of them?
The IID tools are great, and you can get them from flea bay (UK) for a good price.
I am going down a similar path with mine at the moment, so I'll be keeping an eye on your build.. A snorkel is the next item for mine, along with decent tyres, hence my earlier questions.
Keep us up to date with the build.
Cheers - Gav

Hey gav,
The tyres are not great on road. Pretty noisy but they are brand new so I'm hoping they will wear in a bit and shut up a little. Very happy with them offroad though. I'm using the stock 18inch alloys from land rover and run the tires at around 22psi offroad.
I saw another post about a snorkel on a l322 pop up recently. I'm thinking of trying the same thing soon.
Ill keep photos coming when I get some new kit on it!
Ive just made an antenna bracket for my RFI CD900. I used a 3mmx30mm piece of galvanised steel and bent/cut it to fit under the front lip of the bonnet near the front grill.
Turned out very nice! Drilled my antenna mounting hole and it all went together nice and clean.
Im spraying the bracket black as we speak.
The top photo shows the screw I took out to use to attach the bracket, right next to the bonnet latch.
Here are some photo's.

Isn't that bracket illegal, especially with its sharp corners?

Maybe with the sharp corners, but not apart from that I wouldn't have thought. Mine is similar, but with rounded corners.
The bracket would be the least of your problems if I ran you over with the Rangie...
Can't be any more illegal than mounting 2 lights on brackets out the very front of a car... Like this...
