    Air suspension inactive

Thought I would just start a new thread rather than hijack one, I have air susp inactive on my display, can't change ride height, but it's in the normal mode and hasn't lost any air, rides, drives and handles like normal, and has been like this for about a week and 1500km of driving, I read in another thread about resetting the fault codes using the dash knobs, but I get to the last reset input and it doesn't work..I don't have a code reader. Cheers in advance.

On a L322 can you do a hard reset of the computer system, the same way as a D3/RRS by switching off and disconnecting the battery leads from the battery (both +ive and -ive) and then touching the leads together (not when connected to the battery) to clear any residual voltages.

In the D3/RRS this reboots the computers when the battery is reconnected and often stray fault code that is preventing an operation is cleared (leaving it as a logged code not an active one).

I would assume a similar action would work in your L322 but of course if the actual fault continues to exist the fault code and issue will remain.

    Cheers

It seems as though your car and mine are acting in the same manner.
See my (uteman) posting on same subject and symptons.

First try check that the door closed sensors are working as they should, the EAS ECU locks out a change of height in the system if it thinks that a door could be open.

Seems that that around 200K kms these airbag systems go for one reason of another, most common is an air bag perishing, this can include a problem where a leak only shows when the heights are changed exposing the perished parts on the fold of the bag.

Then there is the good old electrical issues that can lock up the EAS ECU, which can include no power to the air-compressor, low vehicle voltage, dead, batteries, dead alternator, air pressure sensors in the EAS system, the ABS sensors/unit, height sensors, and steering wheel sensors.

Other ones include the the air-dryer not function which then can cause other issues through rusting and pitting.

If none of these tell you anything there's always the LR stealer and a T4 computer.

At that age, I'd be thinking your airbags are going to look like this:

If they have never been changed, I think you are up for a new set.

Mine mostly held air (got the occasional sag on the front drivers side) but I was getting the same messages on the console as you.

I ended up solving my problem on the car this week which seemed to be the same as yours ... But i bought a whole new compressor from Island 4x4 only cost 250 pounds (i like the idea of rebuilding the old one if it ever starts to play up) I also purchased all new airbags recently which cost $890 dollars for 2 struts and the 2 rear bags (purchased from china) so fingers crossed I get a couple of years trouble free..... Ok its a land rover so maybe a week ??

I had my rangie plugged into a computer and it said that the steering angle sensor was out, adjusted it back to specs, and re set, the compressor, pressure and all other signs checked ok, it lasted about a week before the message came on again...the car isn't driven every day, one thought is that the voltage is dropping too low and triggering a msg...on both occasions when the msg came up, it was about minus 6ish and the car hadn't been driven for about a week...battery on it's way out? It doesn't loose air, doesn't ride any different, nothing seems out of place apart from the fact that I can't adjust the height.
