Fuel problem Stage 2 update
Hi Laurie and Harlie
I use fuel additive on a regular basis. The injectors when the backflow test was done showed one injector very very bad and another was nearly as bad and two others below requirement. This confirmed the diagnostic readings. The fuel was not going to the engine and returning to the tank, hence my symptoms was loss of power and very difficult to start.
This was a completely new problem to the pump in the tank which made the car stop at half a tank. I queried the guys in Orange could it have something to do with the work done in the tank. They were definite No as anything would not get past the filter. They tested the filter flow and it was perfect. They told me the injectors were the original and so I opted to replace the six of them.
Very big chance I got crook fuel as I travel a lot with the caravan.

Fuel problem update stage 3
Hi Boys
Bringing all you helpers up to date. I am still on my trip and as you know had the in tank pump replaced at Ballina. Got as far as 19 days of travelling and guess what: The in tank pump failed.
Had it replaced as well as in line pump at Warrnambool and bringing failed pump home to pursue Landrover for refund.
Now I have another question:
Intermittently after turning the engine off I am experiencing a carry over of about three seconds.Us old boys used to call it pre ignition.
Any thoughts on the cause of this would be much appreciated.
Thanks again
Denis
