Ah, see what you mean. The manufacturer of the bar doesn’t have to do anything if the customers asked for a one off.

That is one ugly bar [bigsad]. I doubt that a one off bar will be legal for the L322, if it is it will have a compliance plate on the bar somewhere that indicates it complies to fit to an L322 - compliance relates to a specific model vehicle. So if it has relevant compliance plate with compliance number then it would be good to go - no compliance plate then it is not compliant.

Have queried with builder and they are adamant that this is actually a stock bar that they have tested and is airbag compliant and they will fix a compliance plate to that effect.
Maker reckons that they had sorted compliance and reason this bar was there was that it was made ready for a buyer who didn't follow through.
My next concern is lack of airflow, so will be asking how much more airflow can they give me?
No idea just how they will mount it, but as others have mounted an adapted ARB D3 bar to L322, maybe there is a way.
Bar weighs 15 kilos, so hopefully within weight tolerances of front axle.
Ok - I would just double check his claims.
This whole thread is about the lack of bars for an L322 - where does a stock L322 bar come from? You do not get compliance for just one bar - is just not cost effective, hence why ARB and the other companies have not got compliance for their D3/4 bars for the RRS, even though the bars go on the RRS.
The builder may have done all this and that is great, but I would be wary because if it was so easy the origins of this thread would have already delivered compliant bars but was not able to be done.
Just beware.
Yes, being very aware, as from this thread have picked up that not much tolerance on front axle for L322, and having looked underneath I can't see where you could mount one, but as somebody has managed to modify an ARB and fit it, then there must be some way to mount one.
This is only bullbar maker in WA, so limited choice.
Maker isn't keen to increase size of vent hole in front, so looks like I may have to open that up myself later.
I’ll put money on it they did all the work and never got paid... they are looking to recoup some costs.
No factory bar of this type exists, it won’t be compliant because a one off would cost $15k+ to do so.
As I pointed out earlier - if the crash pulse is wrong post fitting you could have a small bump set off all the SRS effectively writing off the entire vehicle - or worse be seriously hurt.
If they don’t pick up the designed crumple zones that’s a huge red flag.
Be VERY careful.
I agree that likely they are keen to get back the couple of thousand they invested in developing the bar by selling it off, but before I go ahead with getting the bar I will ask to see the compliance plate and what model it claims to be made for.
I've also sent a query to WA transport compliance to see if they can shed any light on what the manufacturer is certifying to when they fix a compliance plate as far as design and safety compliance with vehicle systems.
Get everything they claim in writing.
And ask to see the testing/crash pulse model
Keen to see what comes back...
I had discussions with an outfit here in Brisbane, i think it was around 2500-3k for a front design of my choosing, plated and legal they were telling me. I asked specifically about ADR compliance and he said that is no problem.

I think about the legality every time i see random unpopular car with a front bar on it.. Did the crash test it, surely not.
On another note, ive had the OEM steel bull bar on back order through John Craddock ex UK for 6 months now. I think its vapourware!

That action will make the bar no longer compliant (if it is compliant).
Oh and the compliance plate needs to be an "official" plate/label and not one the business have just made up themselves.
However as the RRS people have done, if you are happy with it then it is your call on whether to put it on - odds are you will have no trouble but if you have an accident or incident there could be ramifications and as such it is a risk management decision on your part.
